Job Summary:
As a Prime Finance & Administration Associate Analyst, you will be responsible for ensuring the preparation and reporting of timely, high-quality, and accurate financial data. This role is essential to supporting Veritas Prime’s Finance & Administration team and contributing to the efficient functioning of key finance and operational activities. The Prime Finance & Administration Associate Analyst will utilize foundational accounting knowledge and digital tools to enhance the data management, reporting, and compliance processes within the department.
Location:
This position will work from our Yarmouth, ME office. A minimum of three days per week must be worked from the office location.
Intended Start Date:
This position will ideally start on Monday, January 6th 2025.
Salary Range:
The annual salary range for this position is $60,750 - $75,000 depending on experience.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including ledger reconciliation and financial reporting
- Review balance sheets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards (GAAP principles knowledge is a plus)
- Process invoices and expenses efficiently, managing both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
- Use digital tools to enhance data collection, streamline reporting, and optimize processing in Accounting and Operational activities
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant financial regulations
- Conduct research and resolve discrepancies, supporting the finance team in identifying and addressing variances
- Maintain and update financial reports, ensuring information is accurate and accessible for internal stakeholders
- Process expense reports and assist with budget preparation and project setup
- Collaborate with team members to improve and automate accounting processes
- Utilize ERP systems and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) for efficient financial management
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, including general ledger reconciliation and regulatory compliance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with skills in using formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis (experience with data visualization tools or macros is a plus)
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborating across departments
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload in a dynamic environment
- Problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying process improvements
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and utilize digital tools to enhance efficiency
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance, with a focus on financial reporting and operational support
- Experience with financial reconciliation processes, including identifying and resolving discrepancies
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics) and accounting software like QuickBooks
Physical Requirements:
- This position requires periods of sitting at a desk, standing, and working on a computer.
