Job Summary:
As a Payroll Tax Manager you will have significant influence in helping to build a highly efficient payroll department from talent development to system updates.. A successful candidate in this role possesses a strong ability to see ideas for improvement instituted in near real-time. You are also collaborative as this role requires you to be working across all departments. You are also able to manage high pressure situations with ease and a great demeanor. Supervisory Responsibilities:

This role will have direct reports.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Monitor state unemployment tax accounts, payments and tax returns for all 50 states, to ensure taxes are accurate and are paid and filed on time
  • Direct quarterly and annual tax filing process
  • Support internal control compliance initiatives, testing and remediation. Ensure that payroll tax processes and procedures are updated.
  • Meets tight deadlines and prioritise competing activities and projects
  • Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including payroll changes, wages, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • WIll ensure all clients' payroll are processed promptly and accurately.
  • Understands reconciliation of audits, garnishments, taxes, etc.
  • Oversee the daily workflow of the department. Develop a competent and efficient department by supervising staff, assigning and monitoring their tasks and preparing constructive and timely performance evaluations.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Accounting/Finance space preferred.
  • At least 5 years relevant experience.
  • Extensive experience in payroll and tax.
  • Experience leading a team.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Proficient in pulling and interpreting reports.
  • Experience with SAP, Master Tax, BSI, Notice Ninaj, Expertpay preferred.
  • Experience with SOX audits.
  • Experience in onboarding/implementation preferred.
  • Experience in Projector is highly preferred.
  • Experience in SuccessFactors preferred.
  • Project Management Certification a plus.
  • CPP is a plus.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • This position requires periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • This position will require less than 10% travel.
