Location:

This is a remote position (within the United States), or you can work from one of our offices in Portland, ME; Shawnee, KS; or Orlando, FL. 

 

Job Summary:

The Sales Architect is a strategic role that combines deep technical expertise with strong business acumen to drive sales success and provide innovative solutions to prospective clients. This role is pivotal in understanding customer needs, crafting tailored proposals, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and present comprehensive sales solutions during the sales cycle. The Sales Architect is a key player in the sales process, responsible for translating technical capabilities into tangible business value for clients.

 


Duties/Responsibilities:

 

  • Solution Design: Collaborate with sales teams to analyze customer requirements and architect customized solutions that align with the company's product and implementation offerings. Develop and present detailed proposals, demonstrating how the proposed solutions address client needs and create value.
  • Technical Expertise: Possess a deep understanding of the company's products, services, and industry trends. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry best practices to provide expert advice to clients and internal teams.
  • Consultative Selling: Engage with clients in a consultative manner, asking probing questions to uncover pain points, challenges, and opportunities. Translate client insights into innovative solutions that leverage the company's products and services.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, engineering, product, and marketing teams to ensure alignment in solution design, pricing, and strategy. Act as a liaison between sales and technical teams to bridge any gaps and ensure successful implementation of solutions.
  • Value Proposition: Clearly articulate the unique value proposition of the proposed solutions, highlighting how they can address specific client needs and deliver tangible business outcomes
  • Pre-sales Support: Lead technical presentations, demonstrations, and workshops to educate clients on the features, benefits, and capabilities of the proposed solutions. Address technical questions and concerns, and provide guidance throughout the sales cycle.
  • Requirements Analysis: Gather and document detailed technical and business requirements from clients, translating them into actionable project plans and solution architectures.
  • Solution Documentation: Create comprehensive solution documentation, including diagrams, specifications, and technical documentation, to guide the implementation teams and ensure successful project execution.
  • Market Insights: Stay informed about market trends, competitive landscape, and industry challenges to proactively identify opportunities for new solutions or enhancements to existing offerings.
  • Continuous Learning: Engage in ongoing professional development to expand technical knowledge, sales skills, and industry expertise. Seek certifications and training to stay at the forefront of relevant technologies and methodologies.

 

Specifications for SuccessFactors Knowledge:


In addition to the general qualifications and responsibilities outlined in the Sales Architect job description, candidates for this role should possess specific knowledge and expertise related to SAP SuccessFactors, a cloud-based Human Capital Management (HCM) solution. SuccessFactors knowledge is crucial for effectively architecting and presenting solutions that leverage this platform. The following specifications are required:

 

  • SuccessFactors Expertise: A solid understanding of the SuccessFactors suite, including its modules such as Employee Central, Recruiting, Onboarding, Performance Management, Learning Management, Compensation, Succession Planning, Employee Central Time and Payroll. Familiarity with the features, functionalities, and configuration options of these modules is essential.
  • Solution Design: Demonstrated experience in designing comprehensive HCM solutions using SuccessFactors. Ability to map prospective client requirements to SuccessFactors capabilities, ensuring that proposed solutions are aligned with best practices and can deliver desired outcomes.
  • Integration: Proficiency in discussing and architecting integrations between SuccessFactors and other systems, such as payroll, ERP, or third-party applications. Understanding the integration methods, tools, and potential challenges is necessary.
  • Industry Knowledge: An awareness of HR industry trends, compliance regulations, and best practices, and the ability to position SuccessFactors as a solution that addresses specific industry challenges and needs.
  • Technical Demonstrations: Capable of conducting detailed technical demonstrations of SuccessFactors modules to showcase their functionalities, user interfaces, and user experiences. Highlighting how these features align with client requirements is important.
  • ROI and Business Value: Ability to quantify the business value and return on investment (ROI) that clients can achieve through the implementation of SuccessFactors solutions. Translate technical benefits into tangible financial and operational advantages.
  • Certifications: Possession of relevant SuccessFactors certifications, such as SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP SuccessFactors, is a strong advantage and demonstrates a high level of expertise.
  • Client Communication: Proficiency in communicating SuccessFactors-related concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences. Tailoring communication to address client needs, concerns, and objectives.
  • Consultative Approach: Skill in engaging clients in consultative discussions to uncover pain points, propose solutions, and provide expert guidance on how SuccessFactors can address specific challenges.
  • Solution Documentation: Ability to create detailed solution documentation that outlines how SuccessFactors will be configured and integrated to meet client requirements. This includes architectural diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation plans. 
  • Project Collaboration: Experience collaborating with implementation teams, project managers, and technical experts to ensure the successful execution of the proposed SuccessFactors solutions.
  • Continuous Learning: Commitment to staying updated on the latest SuccessFactors releases, updates, and enhancements, as well as broader HR technology trends.

 

Candidates with strong SuccessFactors knowledge and a track record of successfully architecting and selling solutions based on this platform will be well-equipped to excel in the Sales Architect role, particularly when engaging clients seeking innovative and effective HR and talent management solutions.


 
Education and Experience:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Business)
  • Proven experience in technical sales, solution architecture, or a related role
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Proficiency in creating technical diagrams and documentation
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and sales tools
  • Knowledge of relevant industry trends and emerging technologies
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on driving revenue and exceeding sales targets
